About RiskEvents

RiskEvents is a free, public risk event intelligence platform built for exposure management teams in the London insurance market. It provides real-time monitoring of emerging risk events across ten peril categories, from natural catastrophes and terrorism to cyber incidents and political violence.

How it works

The platform continuously monitors dozens of news sources, official advisories, wire services, trade media, social channels, and natural catastrophe data feeds. An AI classification pipeline identifies insurance-relevant events, assigns peril categories and lines of business, assesses potential impact, and tracks corroboration across independent sources.

Events progress through a structured lifecycle: from initial signal detection, through developing status as corroboration builds, to active tracking once confirmed, and finally to monitoring and closure as the event resolves.

Quality and review

All events are initially classified by AI. Human reviewers assess events and may confirm, correct, or retract classifications. The review status of each event is displayed publicly so users can gauge the level of human oversight applied. See our methodology and correction policy for details.
